Cobalt Carriers mistakenly sent us the wrong item, which happens, but because they are such a tiny enterprise with hardly any customer service capabilities, it took 6 weeks for them to work out how to return the item and get us refunded; we were not able to do an exchange, only a lengthy return. Now the baby is 7 weeks old and we are just now getting our new carrier from another company…we couldn’t risk ordering from Cobalt again…but as for the carrier, it is excellent. I bought this based on a review on a Mommysite, and being a first time parent, I pretty much have to defer to others on all baby purchases. The carrier is comfy and versatile, and fairly easy to use and get in and out of, but I rated it only two stars because it is only for use with the baby facing in to your chest when the baby is placed in the front. I opted for the Lillebaby instead, which is almost identical, but affords you the facing out option.

This was not comfortable and not easy to put on and off, I sent it back and got the Baby Bjorn Synergy instead – much better!

Generaly, I like the product, but its fabric very easily picks up all kind of dirt and dust…

And unfortunately the manual for the application does not say anything about head shelter tacking, so I have

no idea how to use it… :-(

My daughter is almost 4 months old and loves her slings, but is getting too heavy to carry in those with the pressure it put on my lower back. I got the Ergo for I because all the research I had done said it was the best for baby and mom’s back, plus I have friends who have one and love it. It is a bit complicated (you have to watch the videos on their website to put it on properly), but once on is quite comfortable for the adult, especially if you need lower back support. My trouble was that my daughter didn’t like sitting it it. She’s pretty much forced to straddle me and face my chest (a position she’s not used to) and can’t see out, so she cried the whole time she was in it. The makers quote statistics that say it’s best for babies to not face out, to be able to turn away from certain stimuli, but not being able to see out at all bothered her. Since Amazon has a 30 day return policy, I couldn’t keep it to see if she might do better in it when she’s older and more flexible. My advice is wait to see if your baby is comfortable facing you constantly, wait until they’re a bit older, and perhaps try one on before purchasing it.
