I would never buy a Baby Bjorn again. The carrier is overpriced for what it is. It is, in all effects, a newborn/infant carrier. It’s a LOT of money to lay down for a carrier that you can use for less than a year, and in many cases it is much less than a year.
The carrier also poses some comfort/positioning concerns. For the person wearing the carrier, it just isn’t very supportive. It’s better than older models, but still not comfortable by any means once your baby weighs more than 10 lbs.
The carrier also hangs baby by his/her crotch, which is not good for their hips and spine. There are much better options out there, and most of them cost significantly less than this carrier.

Nneither my husband nor I could get the lumbar support in the right place no matter what we did. We are both average heights for our genders and thin.

I purchased this product about a year ago. I was going to buy the “original” Babybjorn but was suckered into buying the Synergy because I suffer from back pain (I thought the Synergy would be more comfortable). Well it isn’t! I get a sore back if I use it for more than 15min. I borrowed my friend’s “original” babybjorn the other day as a test, and to be honest there really isn’t much of a difference between these 2 products. Don’t waste your money on the Synergy, just get the original!

I wanted a baby carrier that would hold little one facing out but with my having a bad back I needed more support – this is a life saver. You do get tired after a while of holding him in it but you shouldn’t really be holding them in there for that long I think. It’s saved my life on days out with him in the stroller and he did not want to stay in till we got home – so put on the bjorn and got him home – fast asleep in the thing! Great!
Highly recommend this. I also got the ergo carrier but it’s nowhere near as good in my opinion and little one can only face in – not much good for a nosey little baby boy who wants to see everything!!
It’s worth spending more on this if you have a bad back. Also recommend getting the napkins as little one chews the front and can get pretty grubby very quick!

The baby’s dad has some back issues. He is able to put the baby and carry her for hours!! Great product and it fits a newborn too!
The parents are super happy with this gift and they love the babysitter as well! Also, you can’t go wrong with the fabric, it’s perforated so there is ventilation and white truly goes with everything.
