Do you bring a lunch to high school? What do you do during lunch hour?

A Parent asks, Most people in my middle school grade 8 class didn’t bring a lunch , especially the girls, because they didnt want to seem like a pig and eat in front of people. I’m wondering if it’s the same way in high school. What do you even do during lunch hour in high school? Do most kids just walk around the neighbourhood around the school and goof off, or do they sit in the cafeteria the whole time, er what? I’m really curious.

bring a couple things to snack on during lunch and eat them while your walking around my your friends.
ex: chips, popcorn, nuts ect….
Me and my friends go to the cafeteria and buy lunch and eat it and then we go hang out in the gym. Its probably different at every school though.
I know,there’s some peeler like that at my school there “Embarrassed” to eat in front of their friends
I mean we got to eat someday.
No,I eat school lunch or get some money for some cookie or something.
I just stay at my table and talk put the “poplars” walk around and flirt with guys.
eating doesnt make you look like a pig. thats stupid. i bring my lunch, because i get hungry. i get 30 mins for lunch, and i cant go anywhere so i just eat, and hang out with friends.
Most people ate the school lunch when i was in high school 10 years ago. No one brought a lunch from home. The only people who didn’t eat lunch were the smokers who went across the street to the park to smoke off school property.
i always left, we were aloud to leave and go eat wherever for lunch, we got an hour.
I’m in high school and I brought lunch to school because the school lunches were gross.
You won’t look like a pig if you bring your own lunch and it’s healthy, such as a veggie sandwich and an apple and some water or whatever. Or, if you buy lunch, buy a salad from the salad bar. Or buy whatever else, just make sure it’s relatively healthy and don’t pig out lol. Don’t eat too fast either, cuz then you’ll definitely look like a pig. But don’t worry, you’ll be fine
During lunch in high school, you sit at tables and talk to your friends. Visit friends at other tables. OR, if you have class work to make up (like a quiz or something), lunch time is the opportunity to finish it (or you can stay after school). Well, that’s the way it is at my school.
You’re not allowed to leave during school hours unless you are 18 years old or have a note from your parents. High schoolers at my school didn’t leave the school grounds during lunch though.

High school is alot more mature than Jr High, So if you get hungry bring a lunch, dont be scared about what others will say or about looking like a pig, Also High school has alot more kids than Jr high So nobody is going to point you out. Lunch is mostly for socializing in high school.

I’m a High School senior this year and have always brought a lunch. Normally, we have our tables set up and everyone divides up into their groups and we chill. We goof off at our table alot, and I mean that is what lunch is for lol. Taking a break with your friends and grabbing a bite to eat
Next year though, my friends and I will be allowed to leave school campus to go get lunch so I’ll do that a lot as well 
But you guys, you need some food lol.

a lot of girls don’t eat during lunch at my school, and personally, i don’t get that. we’re all human, we all need food. and from every boy i’ve talked to about it, they think the girls who don’t eat are weird, and like it when a girl feels comfortable enough to eat in front of guys.
we aren’t allowed to leave campus (the school and its grounds) during lunch or at all during the day without a note from the dean’s office, so a lot of kids just sit in the cafeteria and eat. plus we have 25 minute lunch periods, so it’s not enough time to leave anyway. my friends in public school have hour and a half long lunch periods and are allowed to leave without a note, so they usually go to a fast food place or somewhere by their school, but at my private catholic school, it’s a lot stricter. i personally eat lunch with my friends, and i do eat, or else i’ll totally crash and burn around 2 p.m. and get really grumpy and tired.
We can go off school grounds for lunch. And yeah.
The people who stay in the lunch room (by choice) are making out with each other and stuff. It’s sickening.
We’re not allowed to leave school for lunch so most people bring food (nobody wants to starve). Everybody goes to the cafeteria, but I eat quickly at my locker and spend the hour in the library (the cafeteria sucks and highschoolers are all pretty immature).
I go home during lunch and eat at my parents house. Sometimes my friends come to eat, but I never stay at school for lunch. I am not afraid of eating in front of people, I just like eating at my parents house because the food is healthy.

We go off school grounds&go to a convience store for lunch =)
i never have time to eat at lunch, i´m always doing the homework i forgot for next period.
i normally grab a muffin or something from the cafeteria, in between classes, and i always have a big bottle of water with me.
and when i have free time i just walk around school talking with friends or alone.
i always bring my lunch. i’m a vegetarian and overall picky eater, so i never liked the food my cafeteria served.
during lunch we all stay in the cafeteria cause we aren’t allowed to leave the school. we just talk to friends and hang out… and eat.
It really doesn’t matter. At lunch you just find your friends, find any place that’s open to sit and eat and talk. Most people are too absorbed in their own group of friends to even watch what other people do. By the end of the first month everyone pretty much has their own “spot” where they go every lunch then go walk around. Don’t stress, it’s really not that hard.

I’ll sometimes bring a lunch or a snack. Buy something at the caf, or go out to eat with friends. Or eat nothing, just hang out, go out for a walk, stuff like that.
It depends, what I feel like doing or what my friends wanna do.
well my old school had lunch but you had to ask the prinicpal before bringin your own lunch
At the high school I’m going to, you can bring lunch or buy it from the cafeteria. You can eat at the cafeteria or outside and the seniors can go off campus

Yes people bring lunches:) Sometimes people don’t eat them at lunch a lot of people eat them during other periods but the majority of people bring them. At lunch most people sit with their friends in the caf and talk if it is nice out then talk outside and if you have a car go get lunch from somewhere:)
I don’t take a lunch to school simply because i don’t get hungry usually until 3, which is after school hours, and i don’t believe in eating if you aren’t hungry just so you won’t over eat later. Plus when i do get hungry, i walk home and get something since my school allows upperclassmen off campus during lunch and i only live 3 blocks away.
Honestly during my lunch hour you will most likely find me in the library finishing an assignment that i waited until the last minute to complete, or getting ahead on homework. lunch is really the only time i do homework, at home i get distracted with tv, the ability to sleep and a computer that doesn’t have blocked websites.
