What are some toys that babies love at around 5 months?

A Parent asks, Our daughter is nearly 5 months old. She’s getting too old for some of her toys I think. What are some fun toys or things to help her development we should be think about?

Any toy will do…
Open box, remove toy, toss toy in the corner, give child the box…
My kids were always more interested in the box a toy came in than the toy itself, that is until the box fell apart and they were forced to play with the toy until a new box came along….
jack in a box — its a never ending game of peek a boo!!!
and household things — measuring spoons, saucepans, wooden spoons, anything that makes a noise!
Toys with lights and songs.
My daughter at that age was obsessed with water bottles…mainly empty ones. She loved how they would crinkle and make noise and she loved the chew on the top of it. She is 9 months and still loves those dang things….there is one in her toy box right now lol….
Anything they can shove in their mouths, especially toys with texture.
My daughter enjoys those toys that have the characters that pop up when turning or pushing a switch. She also likes little key boards where she can control the noise that comes out. Her favorite toy however is an empty plastic crumply wipie package lol. And her recent facination is the remote control, so i took the batteries out of one and gave it to her.. she goes nuts.

my 4 month old LOVES his blue teddy and his blue soft giraffe he will spend ages cuddling, talking and smiling at them.
he also loves his playgym with flashing lights
he likes teething tous and ones that make noise esp ones that play music

Anything with lights, noise, and something that’s the right size to grab hold of! My daughter is just 6 months old and is currently trying to fit everything in her mouth aso you might want to bear that in mind too!
