I never did teething biscuits…I was told not to by my pediatrician…we did cold washcloths/teething rings etc. It worked just great, we also used teething tablets to ease the pain. good luck :)

Teething biscuits are finger foods. You could offer them (but dont’ really have to) whenever she is able to self-feed finger foods, which will probably be 7-9 months or somewhere around that point. (Be careful though — babies can bite chunks off of a teething biscuit and then be unable to chew it up.)

Most of the boxes for teething biscuits recommend 9 months or even later. There’s nothing wrong if your daughter can sooth herself with her own fist. If she’s still upset though, try chilled teethers. You can also try giving her cold breastmilk or formula. My daughter loves cold formula since she’s been teething. I know other people recommend a cold, wet towel or cloth. I think that 5 months might be too young for a teething biscuit but call your doctor and make sure.

all baby’s are different but 5 months they can deff start cutting teeth if ur little one is starting to chew on hands or baby toys that would be a good time to give him a biscuit to relieve some of the discomfort

I asked this same question about a month ago, and got mostly the same answers you are getting 7-9 months. However……….

My daughter always has her hands in her mouth (or anything nearby that she can grab!) and 2 weeks ago, got her first two teeth. They are not in all the way, but she wants to self feed sooooo badly, that I decided to just give her a teething biscuit. Guess what? She did just fine and loved it. I watch her the whole time, just in case she bites off a large piece…but today, she actually started chewing it! Maybe its time for some chunkier food for her. She is 5 months old, and for us, that is plenty old enough for her to have a teething biscuit.

A word to the wise…those things are messy!! Be prepared for cookie mess!

You don’t “have” to, but yesterday when I was at the store I was looking at some just out of curiosity, and it recommended 9 months for these particular ones. They were Earth’s Best Organic wheat teething biscuits. I don’t know if it varies b/w brands or not, those are the only one’s I looked at.
