A Parent asks, I’m asking this to know how many newborn nappies I should purchase, hate buying too much! lol

And what is the average weight of a newborn when born?

Healthy newborns should double their birth weight by 6 months and triple it by the 1st year. The first 3 months they are on a growth spurt, and then it’ll slow down, but aim to double the birth weight by 6 months.

I wouldn’t know cos it depends on parents’ genetics and mother’s nutrition etc, but i’d say it’s anywhere from around 7 lbs to 11 lbs.

the best source would be your blue book and you can guess by looking at your babies weight now and the average weight at six months. if your abby has had any checkups you can graph thier progress to help you.
