How long would be safest to keep baby home after birth?

A Parent asks, some people say not to take the baby out before 2 weeks (even to the store) some say 40 days others say 1 month? How long is safe, I don’t want to be at home each and everyday for a month. I’ll go mad. lol

you can take your baby out whenever you need to, hospital birth or home birth. if your baby is premature, you might want to air on the side of caution, but I had a full-term baby and went out with him the week he was born and there were no complications.
Don’t worry about it. Go out whenever you feel up to it. I would try to avoid places that are heavily populated, but when you think about it, your baby was born in the hospital, a place with tons of people and many of them germy and sick. So your baby has already been to a heavily populated place.
If you are nervous about it, go to the store at an off time. Or just go to an open park or other “safe” place.
I took my son out after just one week to the farmer’s market. But he went to the doctor’s office 5 out of 7 of the first days of being home (for jaundice) and he turned out just fine!
i say thats all bull.
a baby is born into your family, not the other way around.
if you need to go out, take baby with you.
i took my son grocery shopping and out for dinner at 4 days old because i needed food and i needed to get out of the house. there is nothing wrong with taking a new baby out, just make sure they are dressed appropriately. if you dont want people touching baby then cover him/her up.
Honestly, you’ll probably be too exhausted to go out within the first month anyway. But I would give it at least a week.
Safest….75 to 100 years…
Reasonable… as soon as you feel ready to head out.
We took our son out a week after he was born. we had to because we had to go grocery shopping. Heck when he was 6 days old we had to bring him to the doctor because of his jaunice. You don’t have to wait that long. However, there are cases where if the baby is born to earily and has a weak immune system the doctor will recomend he/she stays at home for awhile unless its an emergency.
i left from the hospital and went t walmart after i had my son but that was because he was 6 weeks early and i needed some things we didn’t now he was coming but he was just fine. but you have to take the baby to the Dr. in a few days and the a week for check ups so you will be going out bu they say this because they wont you and the bay to rest and fr you to get your strength and energy back but after a few days i would say you are fine to go out
well i had to take my son out when he was 3 days old to a doctor’s appointment….soooo i say if there were any “rule” about not taking a baby out then the doctor wouldnt have made the appointment so soon!
lol seriously, take him/her out whenever!
I’ve never heard of this… I think I took mine out in the first week and she’s fine!
I waited two weeks since my son was born in the middle of the winter and it was very very cold out. I left him with my mother in law for an hour or so while I went out to walmart, gas station, etc, but didn’t take him with me until he was 2 weeks. He did have an appointment at 3 days old to check his jaundice and be weighed though, but that was to hospital and back only. Safe is whatever YOU feel is safe. For me, 2 weeks was safe. For some, a few days is okay and for others a month is safe. It all depends on your preferences as baby’s mother.
i took my son out after he was a week old. just rug them up (if cold) and use commonsense.
Maybe two or three weeks as oince you take baby out, baby would be exposed to all the germs!!!
