When Your Child Started School, When They Came Home Did They Tell You EVERYTHING?

2 February 2010 10 Responses

A Parent asks, Our Dominik (5 on SUNDAY) started Kindergarten yesterday. Awww.

We picked him up at 3, and he ran out and gave us a big hug. Then proceeded to drag us into the class, and show us where he sits, the new friends he made, where he plays, what he painted…..
I was so proud of him. His Teachers Aid, was so proud of him, and thinks if he keeps going he might not need to have her any more. YAHHH!!!

Did he show you the potty? All 3 of mine showed me where they go potty at school. The replay of the first day was 8 hours long. I never realized my kids could remember that much about a day.

    No. I’m jealous.

My kids would never give me any kind of replay unless it involved what they had for snack.
Otherwise, I would ask about their day and they would moan and say “oh no, do I have to talk about it?”

I have 3 kids a sophomore, one in 5th and one in 3rd and they still come home and tell me everything that happened, who said what etc. I love it it makes you feel like you are doing something right when your kids are that old and still talk to mom!

My kids did the same thing and now my grand kids are just as enthusiastic about telling me and showing me as much as they can about their schools. I think it’s a good sign. My kids grew up to be very open and honest with me (sometimes telling me more than I needed to know), and I hope the grands are the same way.

awwwww, I remember those days! My boys were always so excited about school at that age. Not that they aren’t now but they certainly don’t run through the door blabbing about their day anymore. I have to dig a little more LOL

Yes, she did, and we were grateful for it. Her need to tell us everything exposed an abusive teacher and a murderous classmate.

    All the best.

    Aww that’s good.

My oldest daughter is only 2 but she goes to day care a couple days a week and she tries to tell me everything she does at day care. The most I get out of her is played, took a nap with blankie, eat lunch and snack.
