in my school, we just read about it, but at my brother’s school, they had to watch the whole thing, sex and birth. I think it was called “Miracle Of Life”

They showed us videos with drawings. They don’t really show the outside of things…just the inside illustrations.

the really scary birth video comes in about grade 9, so that apparently you will be so horrified you wont have kids. The one we saw had women giving birth, and you saw EVERYTHING. Otherwise timing of what/when to learn about it is up to the school board and principal.

Maybe your parents should have filled you in on some of the basics by now?

Well I took a Biology class in college and the videos that our professor showed us were of the heart: its beating, rhythm, surgery. Some more were on polarization and depolarization of ions. Reproductive system wasn’t a topic we covered in great deal.

Nope, you more then likely will not see a video about that. And if you do, the teachers always let you know ahead of time about it and will tell you that if you are squimish, you should just look away. i think this is a better option for kids in school – not their parents. Kids should have the right to know how stuff “works”. It doesn’t take away from their innocence or anything like that. Perverting what is natural is what takes the innocence away.

Also, i have seen a health video where they show the birthing process but the actual shot of what goes on was REAL fast, almost 2 sec’s in total.

Don’t sweat it if you are worried, and yes you should have learned about all of that stuff during “year 5″ as you brits like to phrase it. :-P

    Good luck and stay safe.

We had to watch “the miracle of life” in our human bio class, it was a video of human development from conception to birth. The live birth was not edited and left nothing to the imagination. It’s safe to say it was the most disgusting video I’ve seen to date.

    mine was like this:
try to memorize as many bones as possible
try to memorize as many muscles as possible
try to memorize all the reproductive parts
    watch a birthing video.

    fun stuff.

Im a senior in HS, grade 12.
Im taking Biology, dont ask long story, involves switching schools and having different science classes.

But my school now doesn’t have a health class, so the science teachers are asked to incorporate it into class.

In 7th grade we had to learn about the parts of the body and yes, we did have to watch a woman give birth. It was kinda gross because right before we did our teacher gave us hot chocolate.
But that was in Health class. In biology, we just have to know the parts to learn the different types of reproduction.

Maybe you’ll spend a week or two on reproduction. It’s mostly nutrition, bones, muscles, digestion, illnesses, etc.

And if you had to watch a birthing video, I’m sure you would have heard rumors about it beforehand. I had to watch that video in 10th grade, and I’ve heard stories of it since the beginning of 9th. It’s disgusting. Newborn babies are the ugliest demographic population I’ve ever seen. But the worst part is all the other goop that comes out.

    Let’s just say this.
Without reproduction, there won’t be humans.
And some doctor gotta deliver the baby right?
    It’s natural.

My school had sex education when I was 12.

In 11 & 12 you should be learning about how food is converted to energy, cell reproduction, different bones/muscles/ligaments/tendons, viruses/illness, stuff like that. I’d be surprised if there is much sex ed. at all.
