is a lanced boil on the head of an infant reason to freek out?

A Parent asks, my 13 mo old had a quarter size knot appaer on his head.very tender to the touch.diagnosed as cellulitus.after 2 follow ups the dr. cut the knot and drained it.my wife is terrified of staph setting in.any feedback would be helpful.

I would just say to keep it clean, and keep him/her out of really dirty areas.
