How long did it take you to fall pregnant after stopping birth control?

28 February 2010 7 Responses

A Parent asks, How long did it to you to fall pregnant after stopping birth control?
What birth control were u on before trying to conceive?
Did you do anything like ovulation testing when trying to conceive?
How old were you and were you healthy?

I’m looking forward to hearing all your experiences, i’ve been trying to conceive for 6 months now. I’m in a healthy weight range.
I stopped taking the birth control pill, mid april 2009. Was on it about 7 years.
I’m 25, so at a good age for higher fertility. = )

    Hi I’m 20 and currently 26 weeks
I was on birth control for over a year when I stopped taking it. First I was on Yaz, but had no health insurance so I switched to a generic brand called TriSprintec.
I went off my birth control and had my withdrawal bleed and about 2 or 3 weeks later my husband and I had unprotected sex and I let him do his business inside me (I know TMI) and I got pregnant from the one time.
We weren’t trying or anything, no fertility or ovulation tests, but we weren’t not trying either.
I am also very thin and somewhat active, and have no health problems.

Im 22 was on the combined pill for 1 year then injection for 2 years then the mini pill for about 6 months. I came off the pill in June and fell pregnant in the July, i had a miscarriage but im now pregnant again. It can take a while for the pill to get out of your system just try to relax don’t think about it to much or you will become stressed and therefore you will be less likely to conceive. Ive got a few friends who used ovulation tests and they worked. Good luck x
