What does it mean when your pregnancy test comes back positive ?

A Parent asks, i took a “first response” test earlier this week ( the ones that say either yes or no) and it said yes, but im hearing that you can get false positives on most pregnancy tests. im not tkaing any medication, and hte test wasnt past the expiration date. can someone please help ! i have a doctors apt. on thursday.

take another one. if two come back positive you’ll know. also the doctor will be able to tell you right away. false positives really aren’t that common.

It is possible to get a false negative but not a false positive.
False negatives are common. False positives are nearly impossible and most are due to a very early miscarraige called a chemical pregnancy. If you got a positive or a yes. You are pregnant. Congrats!
You’re pregnant. It is more likely to get a false negative than it is to get a false positive. Unless of course you are on medication that contains hcg.

i took the cheapest pregnancy test and it
came out positive. Im now 25 weeks.
i would take another just in case or just wait until
your doctors appointment to be for sure

It means your pregnant! Only if you have a thyroid disease or other gland issue can you get a false positive. Since your not on any medications I assume that you do not have any of these issues.
