6 weeks pregnant – lost a little white mucus *any help*?

16 March 2010 6 Responses

A Parent asks, Has anyone experienced this. I’m 6 weeks into my first pregnancy (much anticipated with 21 months ttc, so explains my anxiousness).

6 weeks as of today and I have just lost a small amount of white mucus, almost like an ‘ovulation’ mucus. While ttc, I always ovulated right on the 14th day of my cycle (could this be tied to that). I’m wondering if this is normal or been experienced by others.

I have no pain with it, no spotting, no other sign this could be a concern or impending miscarriage.

I’m planning to call my OB in the morning, just hoping for a little insight from other people and their pregnancies to help me get some sleep tonight until I can call.

Thanks in advance….

This sounds totally normal! You will find that you’ll have increased discharge during pregnancy and as it’s white (not greenish or yellow) it sounds like it’s healthy and not anything to do with an infection…try not to worry! Good idea to call your OB to put your mind at rest, but I wouldn’t be concerned in the slightest. (It’s totally normal to worry about every little thing, though!)

    Good luck with your pregnancy

It sounds very normal, still its better to call your doctor to check wether its some kind of vaginal infection (can’t harm the baby) which will make you feel uncomfordable!!

    Relax and enloy your pregnancy!!

everything sounds fine, most women get extra discharge during pregnancy, your body is working in overtime makeing sure nothing gets to that baby and discharge is the way of it throwing away things it doesnt want. in later months it may even get worse, good idea to check with your doc though in case you may have a small infection which is also super commen in pregnancy. but all in all the baby sounds fine good luck and congrats

Really normal. As long as there is no bad smell, blood or funky yellow/green color, you’re fine. It’s just increased blood flow to that area.

During pregnancy it is quiet normal to experience heavier discharge so you needn’t worry too much. Call you doctor in the morning to put your mind at rest. Congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy!

Oh yes, that’s normal. Like someone else said, as long as it’s not green or has a bad odor don’t worry. For me, it wasn’t that bad as the months went on, but then at about 24 weeks it became heavier again (and annoying). Use a pantyliner when it gets like that. Have a blessed pregnancy!
