Q&A: is it safe to have sex after mucus plug comes out?

Question by Kristen B: i am 37 weeks pregnant and my mucus plug came out the other day, i was just wondering how many people believe its safe for me to have sex, also if i can takes baths or not. any info would be great. thanks.

    I don’t see why not. Your bubs is still protected by the fluid.

    I’ve only heard no sex after water breaks for infection reasons, haven’t heard no sex after mucous plug gone.

    From all my personal research, it’s safe to have sex until your water breaks. Once your water breaks, you shouldn’t have sex because it can cause infection.

    Personally, I say, enjoy all the sex you can before your water breaks because you won’t be having sex for at least 6 weeks after!
