Q&A: what does your mucus plug look like and after u do lose it when will u go into labor?

Question by ♥Zoe’sMomma♥: iam pretty sure ive lost my mucus plug… for about a week ive been feeling this weird feeling like iam wet and when i go to the bathroom theres like a yellowish ..kinda off white lookin snotty stuff on the toilet paper…sometimes its alot sometimes its not..well i was wondering after a woman loses her mucus plug will labor begin?
thank u ladies for the info and i forgot to put down iam 38 wks and 5 days and miserable as heck lol. this is my 3rd child

That sounds like the plug (mine looked like snot). Unfortunately, you can’t tell how long it’ll take for before you go into labor from this. Check out this site
Now I can’t say much cause I haven’t had kids. But my sister in law is pregnant with her second child. And with the first one she went into labor about 2 weeks later and with this one she lost it about 2 weeks ago and is scheduled to have a c-section on the 14th of may. So it looks like it can be different with each child. Sorry I couldn’t help but hope I gave you a range or a possibility. Congratulations with the baby and good luck with it all.
I lost my mucus plug about 2 days before I went into labor. But everyone is different. You can lose it weeks before labor is imminent. If you are close to your due date than get ready! My mucus plug looked like you described.
Increased cervical mucous is common during pregnancy, especially late pregnancy. But even if you do lose your plug, it doesn’t guarantee immediate labor. I know someone who went into labor 2 days later with her first and 5 weeks later with her 2nd.

that is probably your plug coming out gradually. I lost mine with my daughter friday morning and had her saturday at 5pm. labor didnt start til 11pm friday though.
didnt lose it on my second though. but then I used castor oil…..dont recommend!
