Q&A: What are some things other than pregnancy that make your period late?

Question by candy: mine is due i think and it hasn’t come…i feel a bit bloated and crampy but no sign of my period. pregnancy is way out of the question.

there are also biological reasons why you may experience a delayed period such as contracting a major infection or pathogen (especially STD’s). The reason for this is that menstruation takes a major toll on your body which leaves you susceptible to any invading organisms, so your body will purposely put off your period to fight the infection.
a lesser common reason could be your mindset. If you lead a VERY busy life, and always have a lot on your mind, your brain may send a message to your body saying “I dont have time for this,” and effectively delaying your period.
Lastly, periods in nature are irregular. Almost any major change in your body chemistry including large weight loss/gain, extreme diet change, or climate change (not global warming, lol) can cause a delayed or early period.
