A Parent asks, my baby is 2 weeks old and so hungry i have been finding it hard to keep breast feeding constantly as my nipples are so sore and he feed evrey hour and a half i was just wondering if i express my milk and feed him by bottle for a bit do you still loose weight by expressing or it it only when the baby is breast feeding?

Yes, you will still get those benefits of breastfeeding.
It should also give you an idea of how much your baby is getting, as he may not be getting enough.
Expressing should help your nipples heal too. Try creams such as lanosil on your nipples to promote healing.
Yes, to your body- it’ the same as breastfeeding. BUT I warn you, Pumping/expressing exclusively is not all it’s cracked up to be. I did it for 8 months and it was not something I’d reccomend to ANYONE. It’s a ton more work than just nursing. Your nipples will heal if you just stick with nursing- I promise. If you stop nursing now- he may favor the bottle. (Maybe you could alternate for now) If you’re going to pump/express anyway- make sure you do it (or nurse) no less than every 2-3 hours (2 is optimal) maybe 4 overnight. Or else you will lose your supply.
Yes you will but as a PP said if you stick with it, it won’t hurt soon!
I guess, but dont feed him too often with the bottle or he may refuse the breast later.
i breastfed my daughter and still at 10 ths old.iv lost all preg weight and more.
its for certain that you do lose weight while breast feeding
yeahhhhhhhhh

Ive been breast feeding my daughter exclusively PLUS pumping and storing milk and I’m not losing weight. She is 2 months and I am 7 lb below the weight I gave birth at, and she was 6 lb 12 oz at birth.
