How much breast milk should I send to daycare for my 2 month old?

A Parent asks, I am returning to work in another week and have been pumping for some time now. I just don’t know how much I should send in a bottle for my son to eat? When dad feeds him he eats about 4 oz. but that is at night when he seems to eat more. Is there a recommended amount for 2 month old babies?

My boy is 2 months old. I asked the pediatrician this exact question on Monday and she said 3- 4 ounces, just send 4 per 3 hours of work (or however many hours you work) and an extra bottle in case you are late or he is extra hungry.
There is an excellent source for this on kellymom.com, I just tried to look it up for you and could not find it to save my life, but it calculates the amount to feed the baby by how many times a day it eats etc…

I had that exact question and I would say about 2-4 oz. My son has been taking about 2-3 oz per day, but I only work part-time. He eats 1 time while I am gone, but I am sure to feed him before I leave and immediately when I return.

I attached the link to that milk calculator.

I have a 2 month old daughter and I just started back to work. 8^( I make her 3 4oz. bottles with my milk and take powdered formula (enough to make another bottle) just incase she needs it. I am gone about 8 1/2 hours when I have to work and she has never drank all the bottles. I just want to be sure that she has it incase she decides to eat extra one day. I nurse her right before I leave for work and she is usually ready about an hour after I get home to nurse again. I also pump while I am at work (2 times) so that I keep up my milk because I don’t always work the same shift.
    Hope this helps a little.
