Advent Isis Breast Pump-How long until it pumped well?

A Parent asks, I just bought it 2 days ago and I’ve pumped 4 times now. I’ve never collected more than 3/4 of an ounce of milk (both breasts). In the instructions it says it could take awhile to learn to pump well. How long did it take you? Any advice?
My son seems to feed just fine, so I think the milk is there. He seems satisfied after anywhere from 10-20 minutes per breast depending on the time of day.

I bought two of those things and they just didn’t do the trick. I went out and bought the Medela Pump In style electric pump and it was the best thing I did for pumping. When I went back to work, after a couple weeks I was able to pump 8 ounces in 10 minutes. I then tried the manual and barely got an ounce, while I was definitly “full” and I tried for 20 minutes. The $200 bucks for the electric was well worth the money.
i bought one of those pumps and i thought it was rubbish i would recommend an electric one
I had a hard time figuring out why I could only get one ounce total out of both breasts for a few weeks. Then I realized maybe I should just leave the pump going on my breasts even when nothing came out. Within a few minutes more came out and then a break, then more. After a few days doing it this way, it came out faster and took shorter breaks. I learnt that it is because it is also getting the hind milk which takes time to come down, and doesn’t all come down at once. I went from pumping for an hour, to pumping for 10-15 minutes. So once the flow stops, keep pumping, within 5 minutes another ounce should come out, then it will break again, and start back up. I only let it start back up 3 times before I moved onto the other breast. Within just a few days I was getting a good 4 ounces out, and after about a week a good 7.5 ounces. Good luck….Hope this helps…..
