I have a problem with a mother allowing her baby to cry because it’s hungry. I like seeing a woman breastfeed in public. You never know who may be watching. It could possibly cause others to want to breastfeed their own babies when they have one.

My opinion – I am not comfortable with it for myself.. like, I wouldn’t nurse in public simply because I am self concious about being uncovered in public. HOWEVER, do we feel odd when we pass a field and a calf is feeding from it’s mother? …. Do we feel odd after a cat has had a litter of kittens and they are all feeding at once?… We are all animals… it’s natural… why should we have to hide that we are feeding our children? People don’t shudder when women feed their baby’s bottles in public. To each their own, I am pro nursing in public choice

I breastfeed in public but always had a large blanket when I did. It felt weird to me even being the one doing it, but when your baby is hungry, well, your baby is hungry. I personally don’t care if someone is breastfeeding in public as long as they are covered up. I once saw a lady breastfeeding in public without covering up and I know I didn’t appreciate that.

I don’t get why people have issues with it either??? I mean baby’s gotta eat, baby’s gotta eat. It’s way better than a screaming, hungry baby. I feed my baby in public all the time, but interestingly enough I don’t ever see anyone else doing it???

No I do not have a problem with a woman feeding her baby in public, by whatever means she chooses to feed her baby – be it a bottle, a breast, or food. Baby is hungry, baby needs to eat, it’s really quite simple. I would have a serious problem with a mother who starved her baby for the sake of some strangers who might feel “uncomfortable” with her breastfeeding. Personally, I would rather see a mother breastfeeding than listen to a baby scream.

I can somewhat understand that others might feel uncomfortable – although I think it’s kind of silly – but if you are uncomfortable, don’t look.

I also find it bizarre that people think a breastfeeding mother should stay home just in case she accidentally – gasp – “flashes a boob” for a millisecond. Breastfeeding does not require “flopping out a boob”. Baby’s head covers it, and the shirt covers the rest, it looks like mom is holding her baby. Yet these same people have no problem watching porn. I just don’t get it.

Edit – I also think that draping a huge blanket over the baby’s head and your shoulder and torso draws WAY more attention and just screams “OH MY GOD THAT WOMAN IS BREASTFEEDING!!!!” while if you just discreetly feed baby, it looks like you are holding the baby.

adults eat in public….thats why we have breasts, to feed babies when ever theyre hungry

I have no problem with it. If it were a bottle fed baby, no one would mind her feeding that baby, and no one would mind if you could see the bottle in the process. And some children do not like to be covered up. They might cry, scream, not eat, or tear the cover right off when covered.

Nope, I say good for them! Babies get hungry at unexpected times, especially breastfed babies, because breastmilk isn’t a packaged product with a fixed number of calories or quantity of fat. Babies are getting the best stuff on earth when they’re breastfed.

Babies need milk. Breast milk is better for them. If baby is thirsty in public, breastfeeding will happen in public.

Personally i have no problem with it, because from experience some babies will not wait for you to find a private place to feed them you’ve just got to do it there and then, but in saying that yes a little bit of decency is a given at least when your getting your breast out, i used to put a muslim wrap over me while i got my son to latch but he hated being covered while feeding so i then had to remove it but once the baby is on you cant see much if your wearing a decent top really lol i dont see how any parent would have a problem seeing other women doing it, but teenagers are another story full of hormones haha
