Mastitis — Can’t Seem To Unclog Milk Duct!!!?
Question by Adn’s Mommie: I have mastitis and am currently on antibiotics to cure the bacteria. I’ve been doing everything to loosen the clogged duct and it’s not working! I applied hot compress, soaked my breast in a warm water, took many hot showers, expressed milk by hands and pump, and massaged massaged massaged. I even applied the nipple with warm water to soften any thick skin or remove dry milk. I’ve been doing this for the past few days.
I do not nurse because my baby couldn’t latch on. So I had to pump and now he’s unwilling to take milk from the breasts. So nursing is not an option for me.
Is there anything else that I can do do unclog this stubborn milk duct?!?!

It recently happened to my niece and she had to have it surgically removed.
no word of a lie, …stick a cabbage in the freezer, wait until it’s ice-cold, peel off some leaves stick them on your ti*s, and i can guarantee you’lle be thanking your local greengocer later!
hang on i’ve just looked at the other answers, and above,… have ‘what’ removed, you can’t remove ‘mastitis’, it’s just one of those things that happens to us women, sure your not talking about cancer?…[trust me, the cabbage leaves work. give it a go at least]
Do you have access to a hot tub? You really need to soak and I would still try to get your baby to suckle. I read that your baby did not want to latch on but, I would periodically try. Try putting something on your breast that your baby likes to encourage sucking. Sit with a heating pad on your beast as well. Call your doctor if you can not get the duct unclogged. I feel for you. It is uncomfortable. It has happened to me as well. Get some rest.
I saw that someone already mentioned cabbage. Go with it. Not only will the cabbage feel WONDERFUL but it will help unlclog the duct as well.
