Can I start feeding my 9 month old baby breast milk again as I only did this in the first 2 weeks?

Question by Shaz07: At the hospital the stupid midwife got fed up with helping me breast feed my baby. I found it hard after i left the hospital, so I decided to express milk and feed formula milk.
Now my baby is 9 months and I feel guilty for need feeding my baby breast milk, I wanted to know can I start again,
If YES, how do I get my baby to start drinking from the breast because my baby has forgotten.
If NO, then what can I do with my breast milk as there is still some left.
Thank you and I’m sorry this is quite long.
I really need help.

At nine monts its likely that your child has already lost that ‘sucking’ ability…. the milk in your breast will dry up eventually
Oh that is horrible! Some hospitol people are so annoying! Uhm sorry pretty sure 9 months is too late it will dry up. but you can try again with baby #2 if u plan to try again. there are lactating specialists.
good luck.
At 9 months it’s really not realistic to be trying to get baby back on the breast. If you are pumping and offering some breastmilk by bottle, she’s already getting a lot of the benefits. If you have stopped pumping, then you can start again, and some milk will come back. You can then feed that to your baby by bottle.
Sounds like you got some horrible advice in the hospital. You can’t change that, so just accept what’s happened and move on. Offer whatever breastmilk you can by bottle, and don’t feel guilty.
its probably too late to breastfeed, but dont feel guilty. With my first child the nurses in the hospital gave my daughter a bottle right away b4 my daughter even got a chance to try to breastfeed.
Try to put the breastmilk in a bottle and feed it to your baby and see if she will take it. Start to trade the formula for breastmilk.
If you still have milk left and your baby is drinking from a bottle, why not just put your breastmilk in a bottle? Your baby is comfortable with the bottle – and then still getting the nutritional benefits…. I’m not understanding why your baby needs to suck on your breast to get these benefits. Breastmilk is breastmilk – whether your baby gets it from the bottle or breast.
There is a natural herb called fenugreek that increases your milk supply. They sell it at gnc. Adopting mother whovwish to nurse there babies start drinking these pill and pump yo start the natural milk production. Google it. It great determination if you wish to for thatt
Defenitly defrost your milk as long as long has not been frozen for more than 6 moths And feed it to baby in a bottle. Google proper storage a defrosting of breast milk.
