How irregular will your period be after stopping birth control pills?

A Parent asks, I stopped taking my bcp at the beginning of Dec. My period is late, but I want to know if it is normal after stopping bcp, or if I could just be pregnant.

If your cycles were irregular before going on birth control then they will likely be irregula r after stopping birth control. It typically takes 3 months or so to get your cycles back like they were before you started bcps.

Hi ;) Some are irregular after, some are not. I know, it’s not very helpful! But the only way to be sure, is to test.
I was VERY irregular (68 days cycle) after stopping BCP. I had always been regular before taking the pill.
Irregularities can last for as long as 6 months. If you are still irregular afterwards and are planning to have a baby, you should see a doctor :)
