It’s been 12 years since I was last pregnant. How can I improve my chances of conceiving?

A Parent asks, We’ve been trying to conceive for almost 10 months now, but no luck. I had my son when I was 21, and I wasn’t even trying to get pregnant! I’m now 33, have settled down with a long-term partner and we want to have a baby, but it seems it’s not happening as easily as last time. I know I’m older now so wasn’t really expecting it to be as easy. They say it can take up to a year, but I really thought it would have happend by now… Could I already be too old? What else can I do besides having sex whilst ovulating, to improve my chances of conceiving?

You’re not too old. Did you hear about that woman who was in her 90s and had a baby? It’ll take time, even though it’s hard to wait.

I can totally relate to some of your story. My finacee and I were trying to get prego for 3.5 years (since February of 2004). I was 16 when I was prego the first time and I was not trying. I just turned 25 last month and my fiancee is 27 (28 in December). We were to the point of going to a reproductive endocronoligist (I know I spelled it wrong). We went out of town for the 4th of July and when we came back, I was 4 days late later on in the month. We took the test and within seconds, it came back +. It is easier said than done, but hang in there. It will happen.
