How long has it taken after you period was due, or even before to show up positive in a HPT?

A Parent asks, Just wondering! In past pregnancies, tests have shown positive the day I missed my period or even before. I have however, heard of women who it takes a month to show up. Just curious to hear about others experiences.

For me, it never shows up on a home pregnancy test. I always have to get a blood test, and I have to wait until my period is at least 14 days late to get an accurate result that way, too.

Our first daughter was a surprise blessing so when I took a pregnancy test 2 weeks after AF was due the line appeared QUICKLY and DARK.
With our second daughter we were TTC for 3 months so by the 3rd month I was getting anxious and tested 4 days before AF was due = BFN, 2 days before AF was due = BFN, the day AF was due = BFP!
With our third daughter we were TTC for 13 months, and needless to say the 2WWs were KILLING me, but at the same time I was so disappointed by month 13 that I didn’t test until the morning AF was due, tested but disregarded the results, only to come back an hour later and see a very FAINT line (and a blood test confirmed that I was pregnant).
Now we have been TTC for 10 months, and I am embarrassed to say how many pregnancy tests I’ve taken :/ I know I should wait until AF is due, especially with my history of BFNs until then, but I see so many women getting BFPs earlier than that!
