I don’t have gestational diabetes, I have type 1 which I had for a year before I was pregnant with my son who is now almost 8. He was 3 and a half weeks early. He was completely healthy and developed by that time so there wasn’t anything to worry about. This baby will be a scheduled c-section and she will be born about 2 weeks before her due date. There’s not a lot to worry about. I’m sure your doc will do lots of extra sonograms to make sure they can tell that the baby is developing properly so he or she doesn’t have problems at birth.
Hi there!
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes @ 30 wks.
I take my blood sugar levels 4 times daily, watch my diet, and was recently put on Glyburide to help control insulin. It has worked wonders.
As of right now, I am due on Sunday, and if I don’t have my precious little girl by that evening, I am to report to the hospital by 8 p.m. for a scheduled induction.
Good luck to you and your family, and I’m sure everything will be fine.
sometimes with the mother getting gestational diabetes or having diabetes b4 she got preg, the docs. sometimes don’t have the mother go full-term because the baby rcves. 2 much sugar in it’s blood & sometimes is born big. that’s wen the doc. steps in 2 induce the mother, but this doesn’t happen all the time, some babies r born full-term & r perfectly healthy.
Yes I had Gestational Diabetes With Both My children. My first Baby I carried To Term 40 weeks And Got Induced On My Due Date.Already having Slight contractions that Morning But My doctor wanted to go ahead and induce Me Since It was caught Late My Daughter was 9 Pound 2 0z On Her Due date.Second Baby was Not Due Tell January 6th But I went Into Labor With Her On My Own December 22 She was perfect and perfectly fine weighing it at 7 Pounds 6 oz and we got to go home the Next Day.I was Due To Be Induced with her on The 28th of December Because my doctor did not want to risk her getting as big as my first Baby was. Both Though we’re delivered vaginally Just fine though. And we’re Both Perfectly fine And Healthy.
Yes! I was a first time mum at 37. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I had to take my blood reading 3 times a day and record it. I saw a dietician at the hospital and just ate really well, I cut out high sugar and high fat foods. I never had to use insulin. I just diet controlled it. My lovely daughter was born at 38 weeks, healthy, not too big (3.6 kgs). She is 10 now and a healthy, smart littlle girl with no health problems. I was tested 6 weeks after her birth and was diabetes free. I don’t know if this helps because you are on insulin but I thought you my experience might help. PS I was a size 16-18 when I fell pregnant and a size 12 after giving birth! … and a 41/2 hour labour, medication free and delivered naturally.
I personally didn’t but my sister-in-law had it with both her first and second child and my neice and nephew were both carried full term and were perfectly healthy! Good luck!
