What Are My Chances Of Carrying My Baby To Full Term After Having 3 Abortions Over 7 Years Ago?

13 October 2009 10 Responses

A Parent asks, I am not proud of what I have done in the past. This is something that I deal with day in and day out. I am currently going on 5 weeks pregnant and I am really worried after everything that I have been reading about my baby due to my mistakes. If I had a weak cervix would my doctor know that from doing paps and routine biopsys? Do I have a good chance of carrying my baby to full term? Does it make any difference that my mistakes were done over 7 years ago? Please DO NOT leave any rude or nasty comments. This is a place to have questions answered not to be insulted. Thank you.

Only a doctor could give you the correct answer. It really depends on your body, what type of procedures you had done, etc. etc. The only person who will know all of this is your doctor.

I think your chances are pretty good. I know several people who have had multiple abortions and had successful pregnancies. Your body has had plenty of time to recover and heal from your past procedures.
Don’t worry yourself with this now.
    Good luck to you.

I know it is hard but time for you to move on
try to relax and take your vitamins (iron with folic acid )
    that will help your baby

First of all remember that Christ forgives. you need also to forgive yourself- tell your doctor your past history- and he will keep a closer watch on you- possibly as a high-risk patient. I will pray that your baby is going to be fine.

In the past 7 years, have you had your regular annual paps? If so, then the doctor can tell during that time if something was abnormal, like your cervix being weak. You would’ve known by now if you cannot give birth. Also, just be sure your doctor knows about the past (if they don’t know already) and this will ensure that they check to make sure everything is okay. I’m sure you and your baby will both be fine. Try not to stress too much and take care of yourself. Good luck and congratulations!

I am sure that you will be fine. I have heard from drs and nurses that unless there is other medical concerns that were caused by it, there is no reason that you will have any problem having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby

you should be sure to tell your doctor about them …
your baby could be in real danger and if this baby suddenly means more to you then the other 3 then yous should tell him!!!!
i dont understand why you feel bad now .. what about after the first or the second? why would you get 3? its not a form of birthcontrol …. i dont understand how you could do that 3 times ….
not only is it bad bacuse of the life that was lost but thats soooooo bad on your body not that pregnancy isnt but thats not a natural thing
your urterus and crvix could be badly damaged i know a girl who had an abortion and the doctor was very rough with her and her ob told her she will never be able to carry children ….
i hope you can carry this baby to term and give it agood life
good luck to you and your family

did you tell your doc how many pregnancys without live births? Than he should be watching you anyways. he may consider you a high risk or you could be fine. This girl I know had 3 abortions than`a daugter. 3 abortions and than twin sons and than 2 more abortions. Thats why I think abortions are wrong because thats a little exessive. But she was fine and so were her kids. You should be fine and so should your baby. just pay attention to how your feeling. You know your body. Good luck an dcongrats

I’m pro life, but more than that I’m a christian, so first I just want to say I’m really sorry for what you are going through now, You are not the person you were 7 years ago and u need to try to forgive yourself for what happened in the past. With that said, You need to tell your Dr. at the first visit about your history and he will be able to keep a closer eye on you. Your body has been through a lot so I think it would be wise to keep a careful eye on things but I think you have a good chance of carrying to term.
Also, there is an old song called “Jesus’ Rocking Chair” Listen to it, it might help, it helped me after I miscarried. Good Luck and God Bless.
