How Long Before You Went Into Labor Did You Have Loose Bowel Movements?

13 October 2009 4 Responses

A Parent asks, I read in my “what to expect book” That you can have diarrhea or loose stoole before going in to labor. Did anyone ever actually experience this and how long did it last? I have been having this going on for like a week now and still no sign of labor. Driving me crazy, but at this stage in pregnancy I am looking for anything to be a sign of labor lol. 37 weeks tomorrow!

it happened days maybe a week before having my baby i had loose almost diarreah like stools which means body is preapring for delivery but it has to be consistant for those days or week…….
i was 39 weeks when it happened and i had her right on my due date
im sure you think many things happening at this stage is labor bc you wnat to have your baby with you already been there done that but this time im patient bc im not ready to split my love just yet with my 2 girls i want to enjoy every moment left with my daughter bc this comes along and split my time with both so be patient you ar ejust a couple weeks away get things prepared so that when baby arrives you have everything ready and prepared ao you can have the time being just for her or him and not worry about the house or anythign else

I didn’t have any of that in my previous 2 pregnancies. I didn’t have any signs that I was going into labor anytime soon, except for my mucous plug falling out. That was it.
I am 35 weeks pregnant, and I have had a lot of signs telling me that I am going into labor soon. I haven’t lost my mucous plug, had a bloody show. I have been having these signs of labor since week 28.
So really I wouldn’t depend too much on these so called signs..I would of already had my baby 7 weeks ago.

I had this for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy and didnt really think much of it to be honest. Towards the end of pregnancy the baby squashes every single organ you have which is obviously going to have affects on your bowel. If it is linked to labour then it will vary from woman to woman. Id say for you to relax, rest up and do things you wont be able to do after the baby. I spent a lot of time with my husband in my final weeks doing quality things together and im so glad i did now. Good luck with everything!

I had it with all four of mine. It was usually just a few hours before labor or during early labor.
