How much should my 3 month old be sleeping during the day?

A Parent asks, My daughter was born November 25th, 2008, 6 weeks premature. She wasn’t due until January 6th so technically, she should really only be 6 weeks old or so and I’m wondering how much she should be sleeping during the day.
She wakes up every 3 hours to eat and then she’s up to eat, for about a half an hour after that sometimes and then she’s out again. usually she falls asleep while she’s eating. Basically she eats and sleeps and that’s it. Is this normal?

For her being premature, yes, that is normal. Her adjusted age is 6 weeks old so she’s still a newborn and newborns sleep a lot!
As long as she is waking to eat and producing 6+ wet diapers/day then I wouldn’t worry.
Yes that is entirely normal.
For the first 3 months or so, it’s all irregular sleeping patterns.
My daughter was late when she came and she slept SO much, like 5-6
hours at a time.
Just let them sleep, don’t worry about waking them.
They will wake up when they are hungry or need a diaper change.
Don’t get up set about the way your daughter sleeps and don’t sleeps she is going to be alright i think that you just need to get some sleep yourself
Ur baby is just doing what every baby does eat and sleep, baby grow a lot during the first week/months off their life’s.
Don’t worry that won’t last long soon your baby is going to be breaking the house down, touching and pulling down everything that she can touch !
my advise too you is, if your baby is eating normally and sleeping normally don’t worry and enjoy the quite time, because i can assure you, that it won’t last ! i would know my daughter just turn one.
