I have experienced a loss myself.A loss takes everyone different amounts of time.
Many women take around three months to even feel comfortable getting out of the house. Some say that work helps though. I had a full term loss and took off about 4 months before starting work again and it still feels soon. I have been told by other mothers and my counselor that this is normal and okay. For me getting out of the house helps only if I am with one or two other people. Being in crowds did not/does not feel comfortable at this point. And being around only people who undersand the loss is really helpful. Here are some resources you may find helpful:I just created a website with helpful tips and resources:
http://www.freewebs.com/redpowerladyThere are two web forums that are very close to my heart.
There are Moms on there who have experienced losses.
I go to both forums. It is so helpful to have other moms to talk with.

I started miscarrying on the weekend, went to the dr. on Monday, played the blood tests/ultrasounds/waiting game for a few days, then finally ended up having a D&C on Friday. I went back to work the following Monday and wished I would have taken a few more days off. I was so physically and emotionally exhausted. I say take as much time as you need and can afford. It's covered under FMLA.

<br

They sent me back home because according to blood tests and a sono I was still pregnant. I went to work Monday but then Tuesday during the day, the pain and bleeding were just too much. So I went to the ER again after getting poked and probed alllllll over again, the mc was inevitable. I went back to work until the following Monday mostly because of my manager's suggestion. For me, getting out of the house and on with "regular" daily work and stuff helped me with the healing. I couldn't stand being at home.Take all the time you need, it will take time, but everyday is a piece of healing. Take care and God bless.

<br

I actually took of 6 weeks total. Long story but i went to our 20 week sono to find out the sex and well being of our child and they found hydrocephalus, then went to a perinatoligist and they did a amnio and a fetal MRI and the found her to be fatal!! she had hydrocephalus, acaductal stenosis, only 3 ventricles and no corpus cullosum. so from the time we found out about this to the actual time we lost her was 4 weeks. and then went back two weeks after. I'm so sorry for your loss! yes it makes you feel better to get out. good luck and blessings

<br

Second time around was February and I took 2 weeks - one week of which was also a school holiday. My third miscarriage was last May but I'd given up work anyway so had all the time in the world.I think you need at least two weeks to recover sufficiently to go back to work. Aside from the emotional strain there is also the bleeding. However, sitting around or staying in bed is no good either. Miscarriages are awful but they are also very common and you have to pick yourself up and move on. If you can't face people just yet then at least go for a walk or meet a good friend for coffee. Retail therapy is also very good.Best wishes.

<br

Get out of the house a little today. I don't think the first place you should go after this is to work. Just get out and go do something for yourself. Then see how you feel about going to work. Im sure it is a very stressful sad thing, and you should do what you feel is right for you. Im very sorry to hear about what hapened, but things will be ok.. When its meant to be, everything is going to be fine and you will have a great experience then. Take care

<br
